How To Find Marion County Sex Offender Information

The County Sheriff permits public access to the county’s Sex Offenders Registry. Information of all sex offenders in Marion County and within one mile of where an individual is currently at or resides is available for free. Residents can register for email alerts so they can receive updates on new and previously convicted offenders around their location. How do I Visit an Inmate in Marion County Jail?

Individuals who need to visit an inmate at the Multi-County Correctional Center in Marion must call (740) 387-7434 on Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to schedule a visit. If Friday happens to be a holiday, individuals are to call at the same allotted time on Thursday. Each inmate has one hour and thirty minutes visiting privilege per week.

The visitation schedule depends on the jail’s housing structure and the inmate’s gender. Female visitations are on Saturdays while male visits are on Sundays. The jail facility may deny visits on account of an emergency or terminate appointments if visitors or inmates do not adhere to the visitation rules.

Individuals who need to access an inmate’s information should call (740) 387-7434. The facility may give information about the offense committed, some court information, bail bonds, and release dates if all these details are available.

The facility will not disclose some details such as court dates, an inmate’s address and medical information, and items in an inmate’s personal property. The reason is that most of these details are confidential and may pose a threat to the public safety of inmates.
