At the office, individuals can view available records of the property of interest. Copy equipment is also available; interested persons can request staff assistance to learn how to copy records. However, making copies of mortgages, deeds, and other title-related documents will cost $2 per page, and certified copies will cost an additional $1 per page.

To facilitate the search, each in-person requester must provide details about the requested documents, like a property owner's name or instrument number.

Alternatively, individuals can fill out a copy order form to have copies of documents emailed to them. They can also make fax requests and call (419) 213-4400 or email Recorder@co.lucas.oh.us for property search-related questions.

Again, individuals can conduct a Lucas County property owner lookup online via the Recorder's online portal. Upon accessing the portal, they can search by name or instrument. The online platform also has an advanced/legal search option that allows users to choose document types and filter their search by consideration, subdivision, lot number, etc.

How to Find Lucas County Property Records Online

Besides official online platforms, interested parties may search Lucas County property records on third-party aggregate websites. Like government inquiries, certain details (like a property owner's name) may be required to facilitate a search. However, users may need to pay for the service.

How to Find Property Owner by Address for Free

The Lucas County Property Recorder's Office does not index records by property address. As such, it is not possible to conduct an owner search by address through the office. Instead, interested parties can find property owners by address for free using the Lucas County Auditor's online search platform (AREIS Online). Below are the search instructions:

  • On the AREIS website homepage, click "Property Search" from the top menu.
  • The site automatically opens an address search. If not, select "Address" from the top menu bar.
  • Input at least a street name and click "Search". Other search filters like street number, direction, suffix, and unit are also available.

The system will return a populated table with an "Owner Name" column, among other property details.

Lucas County Property Tax Lookup

Individuals can obtain property tax information in Lucas County by accessing the Lucas County Auditor's online search platform referenced above. AREIS Online provides public access to real estate tax information maintained by the Auditor, including:

  • Sales data
  • Taxes and payments
  • Property tax distribution
  • Levy estimates

Members of the public typically conduct property tax lookups to determine tax obligations for verification, compliance, and assessment purposes. Tax lookups also enable proper financial planning.

How to Find Lucas County Property Appraiser

Individuals can find property appraisers in Lucas County through the Ohio Department of Commerce licensing website. Here's how to search:

  • Click "Online Services" from the top right menu and select "Lookup a License". Alternatively, look for the "License Lookup & Download" header towards the lower half of the website and select "Lookup a License".
  • On the License Lookup page, fill in the "City" column with the applicable city in Lucas County and select "Submit".

Alternatively, one can repeat the steps and select "Generate a Roster," rather than "Lookup a License," to find Lucas County property appraisers. Either way, an individual can retrieve a list of appraisers in a particular city, which contains full names, business names, license statuses, license numbers, public addresses, mailing addresses, etc.
